Ways to Avoid Zoom Fatigue

Tips from Clevertech, a #RemoteNative company that has been 100% Remote since 2000. We’ve used Skype, HipChat, Yahoo! Messenger, ooVoo, AOL Instant Messenger in the past. We used Zoom from early on and have developed great operating procedures that help avoid Zoom Fatigue.

Here are our 10 commandments of how to use Zoom complete with 5 Dos and 5 Don’ts.

Dos:
  • Use your calendar to stay in flow by blocking off chunks of time for certain tasks.

  • Schedule in walks, stretches and snacks.

  • Use Zoom in full screen for meetings.

  • Do ruthlessly limit your meeting attendees to relevant people

  • Pay attention to what gives you energy, whatever it is - do more of that!

Don'ts:
  • Don’t manage your time with todo lists that never end.

  • Don’t work straight until bedtime.

  • Don’t slack, IM, or email outside the meeting.

  • Don’t meet just to meet.

  • Don’t assume that work should be draining.

We hope these tips help you. If you are interested in learning more about avoiding Zoom fatigue and how we approach Zoom etiquette, leave your email address here and we will send you a copy of our Zoom etiquette guide.
